We are a refuge for the intellectually curious and for book lovers. We cultivate a space that celebrates the wonder and knowledge gained through reading, while fostering learning and beauty through art created in partnership with our local schools.

Through this work, we connect literature, creativity, and community in meaningful ways.

Mission

Our mission is to operate an independent bookshop that serves as a welcoming refuge for readers and the intellectually curious. We provide a thoughtfully curated literary space that promotes learning, creativity, and cultural engagement through books and community partnerships.

By collaborating with local schools to showcase and sell student-created literary art—with proceeds donated back to the community—we reinvest directly in education while strengthening our role as a cultural hub.

Vision

To be an enduring cultural anchor that advances reading, learning, and creative exchange within the community.

Our Story

Founded in 2026, we’re a small and scrappy female-owned and operated non-profit bookshop and art gallery located in Franklinton, North Carolina.

Cori is the engine that makes the bookshop run smoothly. With her background in design and education, she effortlessly keeps our ducks in a row and the books on the shelf. Her passion for learning, love of reading, and heart for the community keep us focused on our mission. Kind, thoughtful, wildly efficient, and powered by a “get stuff done” spirit, she’s the force behind everything we do.

She built Quotes — a bookshop to be more than a place that sells books; it’s a place where stories, people, and possibilities meet.
